IMPROVED EXTRACTION OF BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS FROM THE POLLENS OF TYPHA DOMINGENSIS WITH SEQUENTIAL CONVENTIONAL AND ULTRASOUND TREATMENT

Typha domingensis pollen is obtained from staminate flowers of plant that edible. In this study, bioactive compounds were extracted using ethanol and methanol with conventional method. Further ultrasonication was applied to the samples improve extraction efficiency. The yield higher (26.3±0.14%) than (25.4±0.3%) applying increased yields significantly (P <0.05). Total phenolic in extracts determined as 9.83±0.48 9.71±0.55 mg GAE/g dry matter method, 11.76±0.64 12.74±0.37 after ultrasonication, respectively. flavonoid content both methods Antioxidant activities DPPH, ABTS, CUPRAC, FRAP tests, determined, enhanced antioxidant capacities observed ultrasonication. qualitatively analyzed UV-VIS spectroscopy FTIR which confirmed presence polyphenols.
